It’s egotistical to take offense
in general. Another symptom sure
as moonlight, permeating and immense:
the selfishness of feeling insecure.
Emotions can be shallow or intense.
Investing less in what will not endure,
I learn to let self-doubt arise and wane.
Erect I walk, becoming how I feign.
