Slippage

I logged a date on phone and paper too,
but didn’t look at home or screen device.
Distracted by an argument, I threw
attention off, and mostly wasn’t nice.
But luckily the other missed her cue,
petitioning to alter plans. The price
I might have owed for failing to recall
was never charged or registered at all.
