Young Abraham discovered God by thought.
His father made stone idols, and that day
a godless woman visited and bought
an idol to replace one ripped away
from her abode by robbers overnight.
“But how can God be stolen?” wondered Abe.
“The sun must be the real Lord, making light.
But wait! the moon succeeds the sun and may
command, yet either can be dimmed by cloud,
and wind can vanquish cloud, we often see…”
And then the boy stopped reasoning aloud,
and gazed from roof into epiphany.
(So I’ve named calories or fat as sin,
but evil’s bred by chronic insulin.)
