An Alien Existence

I’m contemplating octopuses now
(two books after a documentary) –
considering its biosphere, and how
it constitutes its life philosophy.
I glimpse that it could organize and be
instead of lone, a sort of colony:
an 8-life cluster of community,
with central vision allocating goals,
conjoined and never needing company.
I’m surely wrong, but so my fancy rolls…
