Myopia

No matter where you journey, there you are:
an individual within a space,
informed by sun position and by star
configuration, feeling any place
unreal to “How’s the weather? What’s the scene?”
surrounding you right now. It’s raining here
so you forget the drought – know what I mean?
It’s like there is no other atmosphere.

Somewhere each day incurs catastrophe,
while elsewhere joy abounds and fortune grins.
Too hot and stormy, our geography
exceeds our span, and fast-adapting wins.
So living in the moment may be wise,
unless you’d have your view outsee your eyes.
