Hydrometer

hydrometer

They say the rain has stopped; I don’t agree.
For though the drops don’t fall today from high,
there’s water in the air surrounding me
and fog fills up the space from ground to sky.
As if the earth can’t take another drop,
as if the air is weeping tedium,
no rain can fall when bottom’s wet as top;
we sweat in wettest equilibrium.

I almost see the rain fall up from ground,
and just as clearly nearly see it float
in horizontal currents that surround
and bathe existence with a liquid coat.
More rain in all directions I would see,
but fog is blocking visibility.
